    Thanks!

I toyed with the idea of an i8 ... unfortunately getting just my dive gear in that would have required removing both the seats ...

Sick car. Saw one on the lot where my business partner bought his Benz. First time seeing one up close. I've avoided nice cars like the plague because I couldn't afford them anymore, was depressing to me. Thankfully times are changing.

Went to check out a 2014 m3 cab. Great car. Would have bought it today, but didn't realize the trunk was so small, plus has that divider which doesn't move. Terrible... So, they had a SL63 AMG... WHY DID I DRIVE THAT CAR??? I fell in love. Talking numbers now. No stick obviously... Biggest drawback. Other than this, sweet ride. Twin turbo. Turbos spool up instantly. Insanely quick. Miss the BMW steering for sure though.

Drove the 2015 version of the AMG SL63 in Germany (no prizes for guessing where), was a hoot. The only things that didn't appeal were the tendency of the traction control/stability management to come on any time I went near the gas pedal and it feeling a bit less precise than what I was driving at the time. Now, it was a bit damp that day (certainly not wet), but the yellow light was flashing more than it wasn't. Still I'd rather have the power than not!

    So ...... ? ;)

    Shut traction off. ;)

My M6 came with traction always on, hated that. Finally they had a software update to let users control it. Took it out a few days later on a wet night, with it off for shifts and giggles, huge difference. For a novice driver, traction is a must with these powerful cars.

Even with it "off", it still stepped in. There was no true "off" option on that car ... just degrees of how much of a nanny it was. May have changed since ... it was within weeks of initial release.

    Did you buy it?

Folding seats are only available with the Cold Weather Package on the sedans. Yeah it's a small trunk indeed.

Waiting to hear back from them regarding cpo, for some reason it wasn't, and I want buy one without. BTW, that was the same with the BMW until the software update. You could take it partially off. Drove me nuts.

Did you see the urban on the cab though? It's ridiculous. Can't put 1 suite case in there. Makes no sense. I would have bought the m3 today otherwise. I liked it a lot. More than I though. Mostly due to the tight steering.

Damn, so close to pulling the trigger and getting that Benz. They just called me and I can get it cpo'd for $4500. With taxes, $66k. Only has 31k on it, 2012, it's a baby. Could be my baby. Decisions...

    That would be tempting!

Totally get wanting to keep it CPO. There's nothing cheap to fix on these things. Though I ran my last two Astons off warranty and never had any issues.

Agreed. I wouldn't consider a used amg/m without some sort of warranty as a minimum, if not cpo'd. Crazy otherwise. I checked the car fax on the car. It had 3 other owners, all had it for a decent amount of time, with low milk for each, so it looks reliable. I think it's a safe vehicle, but with cpo, I don't have to worry. It's for a year, unlimited miles, but after a year I'll want a new one anyway.

I'm sure it's pricey as hell to fix an Aston. Nothing cheap about them.

Came home at a decent time the other day and decided to clean the wheels.

Looking good bro!! Love that color too. Sweet. Mine is black on black, with carbon trim. Gave deposit today. I'll be gone for nearly 2 weeks though, so no car for me yet

Thanks bro. Dark Grey exterior, red interior. My old one was Silverstone Silver with red interior. This is close. Unfortunately, no manual. Oh well. I checked out vettes too today. Test drove a 2010 grand sport. Car is an animal. Fast as all hell, but that's it. No luxury. It was a baby too, only 18k, 1 owner. I couldn't deal with it as a dd. A second car, definitely. Wifey won't go for that right now. We are closing on a new house April 25th,so I'll just be happy with 1 car that I absolutely love.

Thanks. It was my first choice when I bought my first m6, but I couldn't locate a 6 speed back then with that color and I didn't want to wait months. I was torn between this blue and the Grey with the red interior. I preferred the red interior by a far margin, but I preferred the blue (San Merino Blue Blue) exterior. The stereo pushed me over, as mine has the B&O upgraded stereo.

It's a bit different than my 07. First major thing, the engine. 07 had the NA V10, this has the twin turbo V8. I preferred the V10 in some ways, the twin turbo for others. It will be difficult to beat the sound of the high revving V10. Fortunately there is more horsepower (10%) and more importantly a 30^ increase in torque, which was severely lacking with the V10.

The interior is nicer in the newer model. Instead of just 1 M button, there are now 2. Previously the M button just switched the V10 to 507hp mode, from 396 when it wasn't engaged.

The new one has settings for throttle response, steering, and traction. Plus, with the tranny being dct, you can select the speed at which it changes gears. There is one other setting as well, but I don't recall. Once you set them, you save them with the M buttons. Having 2, I can set one for my chill days, non sport, and when wifey drives. The other M, will be Warrior mode, for when I drive. I've aged a bit since my first M6, however, I don't foresee me driving in chill mode... EVER. :)

It also has back up cameras, and sensors everywhere. My old one only had PDC (Park distance control). It also has an updated Idrive system, 4.2 I believe. It has some other bells and whistles as well, but I wasn't paying much attention to those details. I just wanted to drive it... Which I did.

It took me all of 10 seconds to know this was the right choice. Night and day difference between the sl63 amg, vette grand sport, and the M3 (not really night and day on the M3, it was a lot closer and it made me smile as well) The M3 being the closest to bringing a real smile to my face, primarily due to the tight steering. The Benz was too loose. The vette, although great performance, was lacking luxury. Simple things I'd miss. Like auto window down. Vette made me smile when I hit the gas, and that was it. The M6... Well my heart was beating faster just looking at her.

I'm just a die hard bimmer fan boy. Even when I could have afforded more expensive cars, I bought the M6 because of what it made me feel. Same thing here. The choice was rather easy.

I'd have to go way up the food chain for a better car for me. Aston Martin, or some other exotic. Not even Maserati.
