    Some important things to note:

    1. Loaners from manufacturers are never for sale. That would not be right.

    2. For items on sale, don't act like savages looking for roadkill. Try to remember that before trying to score a deal. Please be honorable about it all. Things like asking the manufacturer if a loaner that's not for sale has a warranty or not when purchased secondhand are the kind of dumbassery that makes us all look bad.

This is great on so many levels. Maybe the library could be expanded to include generous members willing to lend gear that is otherwise sitting around gathering dust, using the same safety/return parameters as the Official SBAF Library. Even older stuff has listening value, and can provide a gateway for both learning what to listen for, and for buying a nice system on a budget. Also: perhaps solicit donations from manufacturers for the Lending Library. At any rate, very very cool, and a big thanks..

One combo I would LOVE to try out is a Jot + Vali 2 as outlined in Atomic Bob's synergy setup.

Thanks for compiling this. I'm still basically a rando around here but would really enjoy participating in things like this, especially since I'm so far up north (Canada).

Would love to try Vali 2 and Modi Multibit as they're not available for demo here in Taiwan. But loaners across borders is such a hassle it's probably more practical to just buy them.

Once this gets up and going i would love a chance to try out one of the Jots unless i end up buying one before that. I want to compare it to my AGD C-2 11th AE paired with Gungnir Multibit and balanced kiss modded HD650.

Wanted to get some ideas for this:
    1. Loan term: one month or indefinite if no one else on the list
    2. Costs: Price to ship and donation of 1% of item's retail
    3. Item may be subject to recall at any time (for meets, etc.)

    1) One month seems a little bit long to me, especially if other folks are on the list. I demo'ed the Focal Elear for a week from TTVJ and that was plenty of time for me to get very familiar with it but I also know people do get busy. Maybe 2 - 3 weeks?

    2) Price to ship, definitely. 1% of retail could be cheap or could be prohibitive depending on the item. I am imaging that I probably would have passed on the Elear demo if I had had to pay the ~$25 shipping + another $99 as a fee. (Edit - Math fail on my part! $9 not $99, doh! ) Maybe a flat "library" fee or one that is capped to be a little more wallet friendly?

    3) Yes, definitely.

1% of an Elear is 9 bucks.

IMO everything looks good, although I do agree that one month as a base time seems long. Maybe 1 or 2 weeks, should be enough time to get in solid impressions. Most loaners are less than a week and for the most part that has seemed to work out. 1% donation + shipping feels very reasonable for the chance to demo something in home

Ability to recall seems fine, would be great for smaller meets, as long as the person isn't getting particularly screwed with just a couple days...etc

1% of the retail cost of an Elear would only be $10, not $99.

Edit: Technically I'm wrong too, Elear is $999, not $1k Everything looks good. I agree that 1 month may be too long, at least for popular items that have more than a couple people on the list.

I would even consider bundling a Jotunheim with the HD650K, if possible.

Oh, you have Dorado- I've been dying to hear those... no dealers at all over here (hint hint @KenBall). Is there any way to make it work internationally? I just fear that if we ship insured, we'll attract duty.

    hello,

two week loaner is awesome sauce. would really like to have the opportunity for system synergy, i.e. balanced HD650 KISS and Jotunheim in the house for 14 days.

working on MrsForBin to try balanced for all her listening needs.

Only makes sense, especially given there is a HD 650 and 2 Jots on the list.

I'm wondering if it'd be worth while to add some vinyl oriented gear. There are a few very useful tools that you may not often use, but could be very helpful to quite a few people here.

First thing that comes to mind is the Fozgometer, used to set azimuth. I think this would be especially useful for those with the finicky VPI Uni-pivot tonearms where every adjustment is interrelated to the next. It'd have to be used in conjunction with the test LP as well, which may push it over the size limit for a USPS flat rate box, I'm not sure of the exact dimensions.

Next would be the an alignment gauge, this one is based on the Dennison geometry which seems to work well with a wide variety of tables.
