    18^2 = 324 vs 10^2 x 4 = 400... kinda close-ish actually considering only surface area

But if you follow the philosophy of that Tekton guy, multiple smaller subs in a fancy array will allow you to get closer to the true natural vibration frequency of a cello or a gorilla fart. o_O

Nah you should do something fun like a quad-isobaric design. I've seen that for stage use; don't think I've seen it for home.

For home theater I'm doing cheapest path to max output. 2 of the SI 18s for 320 shipped, MDF for 60-80, wood glue for $10, free use of boulder library's CNC and a couple hours of assembly + use of my existing clamps, miniDSP and ep2500 amp and I have crazy output for the price. Less than $500 and I'll fill my 4500 cubic foot basement with slamming bass.

Oh god. I really miss Elemental Designs. I still have a few of their woofers and they're pretty excellent. Ridiculous xmax, crazy power handling, and just insanely overbuilt.

I just bought Bryston BDA-2 for $1999 CAD, app $1500 US, plus tax, from Bay Bloor Radio. They may have one more unit. Unfortunately only for people who live close to Bay Street in Toronto, Canada. The best price for new I have seen so far. Wanted it to pair with my BHA-1.

For those in the SF Bay Area...
Sennheiser is opening a store soon in San Francisco. If you sign up for updates, you'll get a voucher for 10% off your first purchase at the store:
    https://en-us.sennheiser.com/sf

10% isn't much of a deal, but if you're interested in one of the new products like HD 660S or IE 800S, it may take awhile before discounts start to appear.
