Thanks, yes my friend Peter Steindl originally designed it. Forsell did some tuning adjustments and released a version of it under his brand name. Peter Steindl later released a version with his tuning in a beautiful copper chassis under the Licence and Bremen names. I think they’re fantastic sounding DACs and I’m never selling mine. Now, back to Helium :headbang:

How about some good DMB. Although I hate the Lillywhite Sessions are only lower bit rate MP3's and the real tracks will never see the light of day. Here are both versions...decide for yourself.

"Grey Street" - Busted Stuff album version

"Grey Street" - Lillywhite Sessions (rough mix)

I know which one I would rather listen to. Still don't understand why Lillywhite got fired.

I've always found the Lillywhite version of "Grey Street" more raw and despairing. In contrast, the Busted Stuff version has always struck me as sanitized--a song about despair, rather than an expression of it. I still remember hearing a bootleg live performance of "Grey Street" in the time leading up to what could've been the release of the Lillywhite Sessions as an album. Such a visceral experience. (I miss the old, heavily distorted pirate mp3s of DMB shows.) Instead, we got Everyday, which is a garbage album, and had to wait years for Busted Stuff, which, imho, never quite lived up to the promise of the Lillywhite Sessions.

This will, I think, forever be my favorite Dave song. I go back and forth on which version I prefer. It was the acoustic version that first really brought home to me just how much I loved the song. But it misses the special magic of Leroi Moore on the sax. Can't believe Leroi is gone.

Used to buy used records and tapes from the lead singer from this band when he worked at used used record store in Knoxville. Superdrag even played at my high school once (before, they were on MTV) for a fundraiser for the student art book.

Anyway, if you like rock with pop sensibilitys, you should check, out this album. Every song is a hit. They are like the 90's version of Big Star.

PS - I have the CD promo single that has a remix version of this song and sounds way better. I,might have to lost it to YouTube someday, that is if WEA does not come after me.

PSS - I do have the reissued vinyl of this album and is quite awesome.

An Annie Lennox medley. Two from Diva and two from the later Medusa. I find Annie in her prime is hard to beat. Two of these tracks are well known; I remember jamming out to them when they played on FM radio. The other two are some personal favorites of mine.

I actually quite like Jason Faulkner's solo stuff. Can You Still Feel? and Author Unknown was released just at the end of the 90's in 99.

People matter more than music. Go on. Take a moment out to chat to those closest to you.

    "I can imagine the moment
    Breaking out through the silence
All the things we both might say
And the heart it will not be denied
'Til we're both on the same damn side
    All the barriers blown away

I said please talk to me"

Make fun of me if you want, but still love this album. Recorded before the loudness wars and Pro Tools...all analog tape. Some great 90's alt pop.
