@purr1n This request might come out of left field, and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who experiences this, but can we get the "Home" button on the top of this site to direct to "superbestaudiofriends.org" instead of "www.superbestaudiofriends.org"?

The reason is that Google Chrome defaults to HTTPS on all websites, resulting in my login cookie to only work on the former domain, whereas the latter results in my being logged out.

I couldn't figure out why this was happening to me as well.

I just figured it was my work computer with its weird domain group policies.

For me, if I throw an https in front of the url manually my previous session is restored and I am still logged in. There is also an add-on for chrome called Redirector that you might be able to setup to do this for you automatically in the mean time. I know this issue also happens with Firefox as well.

all you need to do with chrome is enter the https address, sign in, tic always stay logged in and click the forum page, save that as your bookmark. Then when you want to visit simply click bookmark and bam you are in, just never go to the home page or you will be back to no safety land.

You can set HSTS for a domain in chrome (which will always go to the HTTPS version).

    go to: chrome://net-internals/#hsts

    Add domain: superbestaudiofriends.org
    check "Include subdomains for STS"
    click Add

    Works!

We should not have to do this though. But thank you!

It looks like this is forcing Chrome to use the https version of the site or link regardless of whatever the link says.

Correct. When you go to chrome://net-internals/#hsts read the top line.

"HSTS is HTTP Strict Transport Security: a way for sites to elect to always use HTTPS. See https://www.chromium.org/hsts. "

I checked the HSTS preload site, which would not require manually adding in the superbestaudiofriends.org site to your own Chrome list, and it came back with errors:

You have to fit a couple of other requirements as well that are on that site that you can find there, but the big issue is the 301 redirect needs to be setup for http://superbestaudiofriends.org to redirect to https://superbestaudiofriends.org. (Not to mention the HSTS header and the other 301 redirects I mentioned).

Not sure you would want to send session information over an insecure connection. Not sure how much it matters in this case but it might be something to consider.

This will be fixed when we truly go commercial. I haven't been charging anyone for ads on the sidebar. Need money for better server instance. HTTPS takes up a few more cycles.

no problem, we can deal with a few procedural changes to access the site. It works perfect for me now that I have booked the forum page. But the double playback of ad audio (I really have no idea where it was coming from, could not find.) had to be silenced by an ad blocker, sorry.

Post the annoying ads here. It's not supposed to happen, but I can remove them.
