New, from Indonesia

iFi Zen DAC & Magni Piety make for a pretty nice pairing. Just got a 5V LPS for my Zen DAC and there's now more "focus" in the sound. Jan 13, 2024

If this has not been posted yet, there was a 3 day fire at the AKM factory. Parts availability might be quite tight for the near future.

There was discussion of it in the Schitty rumours thread yes. But I hadn’t read any news stories or seen pictures yet. Gawd that looks and sounds really, really freakin bad.

Got some 305P MkIIs in, can confirm they're really good. They take up a huge chunk of my desk's working area though.

Huh, the treble trim switch was set to +2dB on one side. No wonder the imaging and channel balance felt somewhat off.

Out of nowhere I'm reminded of the time I got to demo the Orpheus back at the 2017 Melbourne Hi-Fi show. Man what an experience that was.

Who knows if my memory is off already, but I do remember the tonality being surprisingly close to my KISS modded 6XX.

Hi-Res audio is such a joke.

I'll never forget buying an expensive double-album Mahler symphony, back in the days when music was synonymous with vinyl, but also digital mastering was getting going. The disappointment finding that it sounded... dead. I guess these kinds of disappointments are perennial. Just get updated to new formats.

And yes, if the music you want is easy to purchase, buy it in the easy-to-get format.

@Vtory, Yes! I think what does sometime happen is that a person who sincerely believes in the hi-res stuff, however wrong they may be about that, also sincerly cares about the music and is able to get a great master done as part of the project. That's a win, and the hi-res format is then just by the way.
