Thinking about it, no duh, but I feel power delivery doesn't matter as much for BA IEMs as DD. None of the usual improvements IME. Mar 26, 2024 at 8:17 PM

I've complained about not being able to use speakers because I live in a fairly population-dense spot. Not only are my neighbours noisy as hell on the regular, but I'm self-conscious about bothering them by playing music at levels I'd consider "immersive". I actually recorded this around midnight to show how it's impossible to get a "clean" sound where I am: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjgGAjune4xyieUeyOpjPqNksa2Hcw?e=4Tqiou

A LPSU or noise nuke is fine for the MCTH, just not for the LP or the LAuX. It really does help lifting a bit of haze to reach a bit deeper details.

Totally get it. Consistency is key. Try to move every day if you can, even if it’s just light mobility stuff in the morning when you wake up. Have a treadmill for a recovery walk today since you can’t go outside? Some VERY light weight work could be ok today if you go nowhere near failure and just do it to get blood flowing a bit. Just don’t overdo it and hurt yourself. Recovery is super important.

I picked up my weights again for the first time in 9 months. Thanks! @Riotvan Fifteen years ago, I'd run in place to "Can't Touch This" before stretching. It's precisely the right pace and length; tho' it did sound redundant after a while.

@Claritas haha I'm aiming for moderate intensity over a couple hours, nothing impressive here. I did go lift some weights (10lb curls/ 40lb lats) until I was wiped, but I'm not trying to become Ahnuld at his peak, just aiming for aesthetics and health. I don't really count reps which is likely dumb, mostly go by feel.

I wanted to eat rock salt after though. Was probably dehydrated.

Its funny, starting in the hobby a decade ago, KZ was coming out with new models weekly, varying QC issues, and completely ripping off other designs. They have gotten so much bigger since then and they still are dripping in drama too often.

Tyvan's response is clear BS, DMS and other industry folks have been getting these offers and when they call out KZ, KZ pretends it wasn't them!

I didn't hear much of KZ back then, but I guess I was looking elsewhere. The IEMs that I was drooling over at the time were the original Vsonic GR07 (still wanna hear a pair TBH), but I suppose KZ was still growing at the time. More familiar with more recent scandals.

I can't blame people for taking money to sustain themselves, but yeah had to be someone established and ostensibly cosy to blow this out of the water.

Possible corrosion from humidity? Could be that the switch is particularly susceptible to it as the symptoms are the same and the wiggling sounds like friction is the solution. How could cat hair even get in there?

@Sqveak I was kinda being facetious, but I'm sure some very fine cat hairs might have gotten into it over the months I've had the amp, just not necessarily IN the gain switch. Corrosion is a more likely suspect, on a serious note, because I remember that WD40 contact cleaner DID help with the 3+'s issues... temporarily. Yeah electronics in this climate are just debuffed, gah.
