May just move my computer and use my short PYST usb cable I got from Schiit a few years back. I think it's 3ish feet.

XLR is for long cable runs so what would make the most sense would be the keep the DAC close and then have extra long XLR cables. Of course then you need 2 x 10ft cables over using one digital cable of the same length.

Next, most of the jokes were not really funny. And that one car chase when the girl driving the car that gets blown up just slides down the road still in the seat, still holding the steering wheel? Not funny, and just seems like a poor excuse for a way she survived that. It was too long too. I could never feel emotionally for any character, except possible the antagonist. I thought it was OK, but not great. 6/10.

Wrap tube in bubble wrap. Put wrapped tube in box. Fill box with wrapped tubes. Hide box so you can pretend you didn't buy so many tubes.

I never understand complaints about not finding new music anymore. IME most of the music we will discover is stuff that has already released. Last month was a collection of some of the best classical recordings in history, this month is Daft Punk, next month can be anything.

I could hear hum through the crack because the house I live in is old and has very poor power. Bought a Hum X from Amazon and that solved the problem. Not sure how it impacts the sound, but the crack was very punchy and dynamic. I have a ZDS now and it’s super quiet so I skipped the Hum X and connected directly to the outlet.

I presume, you still need those two (bringing mid-range up a bit & 6kHz peak damping) usual Mods on your HD800?

*Sigh* I wish I could afford DNA products!

BTW, is the Stratus still being Manufactured / Sold-direct, or as Used/Second-Hand only?

        Edit: Oh! Demo Unit.

I've only had it a week, but right away I noticed better extension on both ends, especially in the bass. Hits harder and deeper where the Sonett 2 was a bit more soft. This also plays into improved dynamics. I didn't really notice until now, but the Sonett 2 upper midrange is a bit more laid back while the Stratus has a bit more energy here.

Was probably going to find a pair of the RCAs Marv recommended. Looks like matched pair are a couple hundred. The cheapest look to be the Sovteks at around $130 a pair. If the Aficionado is really quite the step up above both the ZDS and Stratus, I might as well go for it. If I'm already okay with spending $3k, what's an extra $4-500.

Is the black widow fine if the receiver is turned on? Some receivers ground their inputs when turned off, which is not good if you're trying to use the other gumby SE out. I had same problem, used a sys to break the connection when not using receiver.
