I posted this over on AudioKarma, it's very different from what I've seen on SBAF, but maybe someone wants it. I'd kind of like to keep it and have it restored, but I'm lusting after a VPI and just need cash. I've had this for a few years and used it as my main amp and then as my desktop amp after moving up the Mcintosh integrated line. Up until last year it functioned perfectly, and I preferred the sound of the aux in(fairly euphonic) for digital sources over my MA6200, but about 9 months ago it started making intermittent popping sounds through the speakers while playing any input. It's totally unrestored, so I'm guessing it's in need of a recap, or maybe just reflowing solder joints. There is some corrosion on the chassis, and some minor scratches/discoloration on the wood case. I've tried to capture the worst in pictures. Overall it looks very nice. The glass is in great shape. I'd prefer not to ship, but I will if you have Audio Classics send a box. $525 with case, $425 without plus shipping or local pick up in Chicago.

Edited to add: I'll deliver within an hour or so of Chicago

Nice! The Audio Classic boxes are cut perfectly and worth getting. Somewhat expensive, but it's a work of art in itself and even better than the original boxes.

To have worked on, I'd recommend TerryDeWick: http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/dewick_repairs.htm

Just be patient as he is booked many months in advance.

I recently got back my old MC2505 I sent in to be brought up to snuff. Total price of the restoration? $140.

This may be going off to Mr. DeWick before too long, at which point I'll close the thread and decide if I want to build a 3rd system with it after tune-up.
