The title panel/screen looks good. Also the soundtrack part.

The animation has a distinct drabness to it that reminds me of the old 1980-ties animes. The colours look lifeless and sometimes the lines/borders are not sharp enough. Maybe there were budget issues at that time. Even so the animation is good enough to tell an interesting story.

On Crunchyroll you can only watch this series in 240P or 480P. It reminds me of the VHS times.

The first 10 episodes or so had a liberal use of stock footage so yeah I think budget issues were present.

I cannot help it. I am too much of a Gundam fan to resist. Enjoy...

Lot of promising titles to choose from this time around. (Haven't watched sunday's shows yet)

Ancient Magus Bride because Ancient Magus Bride, Konohana Kitan and Blend-S for CGDCT (In the latter case, cute girls doing sadistic kink-shaming things??), Girls' Last Tour is comfy post-apocalyptic Flip Flappers with some existentialism sprinkled in.

Just-Because is the high-school reunion love-story tear-jerker (this one's going to hit me with a ton of bricks I can feel it)

Kino No Tabi's looks like it can become suspenseful at any time, but the story itself is episodic (Va for the MC's Aoi Yuki so I'm sold) and Recovery of an MMO Junkie is a nice breath of fresh air. Away from the generic OP male-teenager trapped in a fantasy world drowning in pussy. This one is going to be my cozy show.

Finally, Garo- Vanishing Line has got to be one of the manliest shows I've seen this season. First 5 minutes the burly-AF male MC is punching a titty-demon monstrosity, picking up chicks, eating steak, riding a demonic motorcycle, and blowing up a bridge.

+1 Ancient Magus Bride, and I've been looking forward to the Kino no Tabi sequel/reboot (?) for ages now! The new character designs are starting to grow on me, but the rather obvious CGI bits are... off-putting? I'm not entirely against CGI in anime, mind, but if it's in there it has to be decently done at least.

Also planning on watching Ousama Game since I remember liking the manga from way back. Haven't read it in years, but I'll give the anime a shot anyway.

Also, LOL at Garo's description, @Yeskey— colour me interested XD

Houseki no Kuni is gorgeous. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou is the closest you'll find to Made in Abyss this season.

Houseki no Kuni is an absolute gem, great cgi and interesting story, plus the moon raiders look wicked.

Tried the Gundam Seed series. Not bad at all. The HD remaster at 720P is quite good.

The soundtrack is sometimes hit or miss. There is a 1990-ties vibe to it. The Char/Shar character really disappoints in design. If you are going to include a Char/Shar-like character just go for it. Char/Shar is one of the best aspects of the Gundam series.

Still watching Gundam G Fighter. The story gets better but is it slow going.

Question, will there be serious Blade Runner anime? That film is so easy to adapt for anime with a working story...

Finished the Gundam G Fighter series. 49 episodes of a very non-typical Gundam story. It has the same tone as Gundam IBO where the protagonist is not a chosen one but just a warrior trying to survive. Nobody is innocent, everybody is flawed but the final choices one makes determine what someone is.

There are some twists in the end of this series that elevate it as a whole. The ending is cheesy and original at the same time but worth it. Domon Kasshu is one of the most interesting characters ever created in the Gundam universe. Sort of a good version of Char/Shar.

The band TommyHeavenly(6) made some good soundtracks. That Gintama theme song is good. Then I found this...

After finishing Gundam Seed I saw there was Gundam Seed Destiny. Well if you like Gundam Seed with more drama and Kira being a bad-ass all of the sudden, good sequel. Thing is the story unfolds too slowly for its own good and it is easy to give up half-way through.

It is a good series if you were into Gundam Wing. If not, skip Gundam Seed Destiny.

Finished this series yesterday. I watched it for the third time now. It had enormous potential but was very poorly written in many parts. The anti-hero protagonist Heero Yui is still awesome. Milliardo Peacecraft/Count Zechs Marquise is a great anti-hero antagonist and an awesome hommage to the original Sha/Char character. Some of the Gundam villains are exceptional despite their flaws.

    Next series: Death Note.

Yes I am late but I could not stand the manga.

@Deep Funk The manga's ending is better than the anime's, really. Then again, it was kinda cool seeing the one scene near the close of the show animated. Not gonna say what it is because, duh, spoilers, but for all its flaws the Death Note anime is a classic.

Sigh, now I'm craving potato chips.

Haven't read the manga, but despite several times I could never finish the anime. Slightly spoiler-y...

but 2/3 of the way through there is a definitive and conclusive ending but somehow it keeps going...

@maverickronin you can hide spoilers by using [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] (minus the spaces) :)

And yeah, that has to be one of the series' main issues, really. Bakuman has much better flow overall.

My Hero Academia season 3 just started up. Great shounen anime about a world where most people have unique superpowers called quirks. First season starts off a bit slow so give it 3 or 4 episodes.
