Dear associates, I'm moving a few things around in my setup and will be selling a couple units:

    1) First up is my EAR 868 preamp. A wonderful unit that I have greatly enjoyed, works flawlessly and looks as good as new. Takes 2 6dj8 or 7dj8 tubes (includes 6922/7308/pcc88 etc). Refer to pics below for inputs and outputs and am happy to answer any questions about it. Has 5 analog inputs, separate phono input, a pair of balanced XLR inputs, and 2 pairs of RCA outs and 2 pairs of XLR outs. The preamp includes stock tubes and original packaging for safe travels.

Would like $3,000 net to me. Happy to hand deliver in white gloves woven out of the mane of a unicorn to a household in southern California.

    2) Second up is my EAR 88PB phono stage. I've had this phono stage for just under a year, and has worked flawlessly and is in beautiful condition (see below). The EAR 88PB has two inputs for multiple turntables or arms and has both Moving Coil and Moving Magnet capability. Four PCC88 Tubes included (also takes 6922/7308/6dj8/7dj8 same as EAR 868).

Volume control allows direct connection to power amplifier. A buffer stage follows the volume control, using an output transformer which provides balanced or single-ended output at low impedance. However, I used it in combination with the EAR 868 above. Two inputs, one with switchable gain and input impedance. Mono/stereo switch.

Would like $3200 net to me. As always, happy to hand deliver in white gloves woven out of the mane of a unicorn to a household in southern California.

That high pitched tone you hear is my sustained wail of despair at not being able to purchase these. GLWS!

Wow. The 868 is about the best money can buy...

Never heard the 88pb. How would you compare it to the 324?

What are you moving on to?

Hey @Ziva what's up man! The 88pb is fairly similar to the 324 from memory, since I heard bazelio's 324 before I had my 88pb. They are both really dynamic and impactful and natural sounding, really engaging without being forward or aggressive (not words I'd use to describe ear gear), both are super quiet. If you had to characterize the tonality the 88pb might be a touch warmer than the 324. In my room the 324 added some brightness that wasnt working as well in my system but thats somewhat unfair since we just dropped it on and listened rather than tuned everything to it. What i liked about the 88pb is ability to tune the sound with tubes. So it worked really well in my room, and with the rest of my chain. I got it to give me that impsct and dynamics of the 324 but didn't have the brightness that we were hearing on the 324 (but see above).

I seriously had no plans to move either of these things, I see them as close to permanent as anything I've ever had in my system. But I was offered a EAR 912 from a friend and I can't pass on it.

Have an offer on the 868 on usam so any friend that wants it please hmu.

After consulting with an associate, I've dropped the price on the 868 preamp to 2,800 net to me if anyone on here is interested.

Those power cables are really thick. Like thicker than main power lines for commercial buildings.

GLWS! That’s some good stuff right there

That was a a lot of action, in a short amount of time. What power cables are those, curious minds want to ask.

    EAR 868 is now sold.

EAR 88PB is still available, and is shockingly good if anyone here wants an endgame phono stage. One person has expressed interest, going to take it over to their place on Monday so they can give it a listen.

Happy that the EAR 868 is going to a Uruguayan, as I have a soft spot for my beloved neighbors. Besides, they've produced some of the finest soccer players in history, Enzo Francescoli and Luis Suarez to name just a couple.
