Sad to see them go, but I suppose that's the inevitable march of time. I've built many of their kits over the years and I must say it was probably on a Crack kit that I really learned to solder properly (not counting the really fudgy bad jobs I did "learning" in school).

Whoever picks up their tech library should digitize it.

Regular Stellaris is under $7k brand new so it looks like this person is hoping to capitalize on the long wait time. Typical Head-Fi nonsense.

Coda Continuum amplifier for $1,500 on USAM: https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650036199-coda-continuum-amplifier-black-200-wpc-recapped/. Seller in California.

    From the ad:
This looks to be the predecessor of the Continuum TS amp, which itself is the predecessor of the current No. 8 amp. As far as I know, the No. 8 uses the latest FET input stage and also uses a 3kVA transformer, so I imagine this Continuum uses the older FET input stage and looks like it has a 2kVA transformer. Good option for someone who needs a lot of power/current on a budget. Coda guys started at Threshold with Nelson Pass and have continued designing BJT amps. They also OEMd for Legacy Audio and licensed a circuit to Roger Sanders for the Magtech amplifier (to which Roger adds his regulated power supply).

for anyone who doesn't object to ghetto and lives in the PA area, this is a highly regarded Tannoy concentric driver for the cheapest I have ever seen them sell for. $995

    https://www.usaudiomart.com/details...-dual-concentric-12-inch-speakers-60-w-rated/

"Pair of vintage Tannoy Monitor Royal Dual Concentric 12 inch integrated speakers, 60W rated, [HPD/315] and their crossover networks, manufactured in England. Originally purchased from Audiovision in Santa Barbara, CA in 1975 and have since been reconed by a vendor recommended byTannoy and are in very good condition. These are housed in (heavy) home-built enclosures that have been designed by an acoustical engineer expressly to match the acoustical characteristics of these particular speakers [see pictures], but I am willing to sell them sans cabinets. Cabinet dimensions are 30" h X 19" w X 18" deep, covered in white plastic laminate (Formica) and have some minor dings. Some original paperwork and brochure available, 1 owner.
Paypal or cash only. Pickup in West Chester, PA"

If I recall, weren't the more reasonable prices a few years ago around $2k? A local friend of mine has one... maybe he'd consider selling if this is the going rate these days.

Yes, the fair, honest non asshole price is 2k. That's what I recently bought mine for here and that's what one just sold for on TMR.

Focal Arche DAC/amp with dinged edges selling for $350: https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650032466-focal-arche/. Seller in Illinois and doesn't have USAM feedback, but my scam radar isn't going off at least.

FYI the Arche was discontinued and is no longer supported. Focal outsourced this to Micromega. No firmware updates and many people reported issues with it over on the headphones.com thread. But for use just as an amp and you don't care about cosmetics, it's supposedly a great match with Focal headphones.

FWIW, the rectifer in the photo looks like a 7-notch Mullard... which is what I ended up with in mine (small improvement over the stock)

Yeah I’m using a Mullard too. Pricey but seemed an improvement.

Wouldn’t be a deal breaker necessarily but at that asking price I don’t think asking the seller to knock off the price of a cheap 5AR4 (new production Tung Sol or something) would be out of line if he doesn’t include the Mullard/something else.
