I’m thinking of doing a garage1217-style chassis like I think you suggested.

This 1” OSB is heavy enough to give it some stability https://imgur.com/a/BMbPr and I think a stain will bring out the cool wavy pattern a bit more

I screwed up too because i thought i could just mount all the components to 5mm wood. Turns out it was way too thick. Had to cut a 3mm piece and screw it on the back to mount everything.

Can't wait to see your amp when you finish

@Cspirou - masking tape over the cut edges before laser cutting saves a lot of time on cleaning up the wood ashes. ;)

@Grahad2 - this was my first attempt at laser cutting something. MDF is the worst. Thanks for the tape idea. I usually do sanding anyway.

I also dont make the joints flush and instead let them protrude out a bit. Then cut off the excess with a handsaw or router so its flush with the surface. I dont see any burned edges when I do that.

Yeah I did quite some bit of laser cutting in my Uni days and I hated doing anything that relied on the laser burning. Acrylic might need more ventilation but I'm sure as heck happy that there's no black ash getting everywhere.
