Man do they hate Eddie Current. And love Audio-gd. I thought we got over the top sometimes on CS (especially late at night in the shoutbox) but the vitriol is too much.
People that think CS/SBAF is unwelcoming haven't been to head-case.
BTW, I do think they have value and they have a pretty vibrant hardcore DIY group. Far less noise then head-fi but I also don't fault anyone that is put off by the place. It's a very particular niche place.
My problem was the obvious bias against EC. And Gilmore’s general attitude is a turn off for me. But I’m sure some folks don’t find us to their liking. To each their own.
I think their Stax thread is pretty useful, plenty of information about Stax silent revisions and technical explanations about it. Not the type of forum I would like to be in, but nice resource about Stax land, just omit the vitriol and search specific info. I do the same with old and useful Head-fi threads, search info and ignore noise/rants. Every forum can be useful if you have patience/know where to look.
