@JustAnotherRando HAHA! Well, have to respect others' personal space, yes? Don't want to have to bother em with loud music at 2AM or anything :P

So you can go for speakers now!

Ugh, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. As if headphones isn't enough of a money sink, plus all the extra space for new books!

it's ok. Speakers is something that /most/ people are content to have just one pair of. Some people keep them for years too. Decades even.

Of course, they aren't any cheaper than 'phones: you just sink all your money in one go! :)

@Thad E Ginathom HAH! Sinking what money, now? :P

Well fine, I concede that I'm *considering* investing in not-too-shabby speakers some time this year, perhaps those Massdrop x JBL desktop ones, but no rush— I really am more of a headphones guy, if for no other reason than it helps me focus on the music.

You mean the low-cost (even before Massdrop) active speakers?

IIRC, when first released, there was a BOGOF offer. Talk about offers one can't refuse! If only I'd been in USA!

But if you are thinking "active" you have to consider the chain. You need a volume-control/pre-amp, rather than an amplifier. Unless your source is a PC and you have no theological objections to volume control in your media player. Which could always do while saving up for other bits.
