I left windows behind long ago, but I'd be encouraged that it gets as far as a BSOD when booting. That shows that a lot of hardware is actually working.

Apple is worse. It happens and your device is dead. With a Windows machine you can still fix the thing in some cases. Either way a B.S.O.D. is unpleasant.

Thanks everyone. I just did a back-up of the music two weeks ago. I kind of knew it was about done. Little things. After 35 years with PC’s you just know. Time for a new toy.

Thanks @Elnrik for the kind offer. It’s soooo old, not worth the time. Wal-mart special I bought for jury duty. Surprised at how long it lasted really.
