Yeah and stick to smileys so normal conversation is no longer relevant. All kidding aside i would to be able to like and dislike a post simultaneously just to f**k with people.
i'm in favor of the current punitive system. f**k generation facebook with emojis for different emotional reactions to a post. if a post really makes you feel those things you need to go live life and experience real emotions.
@brencho, I didn't grow up with the internet (got access maybe age 13), but while I see why the current Like/Dislike system might appeal, I'm calling bullshit on saying that you can't experience real emotions online.
EDIT Sorry, flashed back to this one conversation where someone insisted books weren't good for anything, and that what you experience there is worth nothing. Ticked me off.
The internet's a tool. Not the kind that gets banned after a few days on here, but the kind you can make something of. It's where I stay in touch with people I care about who live half a world away, where I learn cool shit about a hobby that used to be all about money, where I mourn people dying in wars the cause of which they don't give a fried rat's ass about.
Words are perfectly sufficient: 'pure noise', 'excellent info', 'don't care', 'love it'
.. maybe some emo-ticons can be used: dogshit, tomato, unicorn, etc.. why not, but these don't translate consistently the same.
Need a max post length (like Twitter, or SMS) but with exponential decay: 256 chars, 128, 64, ..., 4, 2, 1
Might solve the problem of trolls and those who don't know when to put down the shovel
