    I'm most curious to hear if the new Metrums don't apply vaseline to the smallest low-level details. The new chips, despite similar distortion numbers, should be much more accurate overall (especially with FPGA applied in front on higher end units).

    No, it doesn't. This isn't your grandfather's NOS DAC; It's very fast, dynamic, good detail top to bottom. Need to do a lot more listening, but so far I like what I hear. The simplicity of the Musette is compelling - essentially no IV; output is right off the ladders. A very different, and musical approach vs. Schiit's multibits.

    Very nice. There was something very compelling about the old Metrums, just not nearly resolving enough. Had the new models come out before I got my Model S, I'd have had a tough decision to make...

    One other thought - pairs very well with S7. I'm curious to see if it's a bit brighter with Studio / TIII. But the U7 pairing very very good.
