    One thing is for sure - lots would have to change in the industry (especially pharmaceutical) to make such a thing happen. Also the govt would have to balance it with big taxes to cover the massive cash hemorrhage.

    In Germany they have a system where you can accept the govt insurance or you can pay for private. A German guy told me the other day that you often get turned away if you don't have private. People on private insurance get charged something like 3x more for medical care by law.

    Yes it is. I think the current system would be better if the insurance and pharmas hadn't gone out of control in the past 15 years. Medical prices are partially so damn high because of the way billing and payment system to insurance companies works.
