    I hear that. I can't use massdrop for this reason. "Oh, it's only $80 more on Amazon, and I can have it tomorrow!"

    coming from the bay area it's really amazing how much of a stark difference it is for everyone else in the country. You literally can have almost anything delivered same day in the Bay between Amazon and the million other services. It's an order of magnitude larger selection having so many potential providers and stores offering the service.

    Same-day (or faster) service becomes addictive. There are times I won't order even from Amazon because the thing isn't available same-day, and I wind up waiting as a result. Not smart, but it is what it is. One nice thing being in Seattle is that we get most of Amazon's new services first. Though it's really on Same-Day/Now and then local food-delivery that we have in the broader sense.

    Yeah, back in California we had prime now, prime same day, google express, instacart, door dash, uber eats, eat24, grubhub, and about a dozen little startups from SF to San Jose doing the same thing with local businesses. In Colorado... I go to the store.

    Delivery, if ordered within the next four hours and twenty minutes: yesterday.

    You have got Amazon Tardis over there in California, right?

    Massdrop... Never experienced delivery so slow and expensive.

    Serves me right for being turned on by oak-boxed screwdriver sets. Doubt that I'll ever buy anything larger from them, especially not audio.

    @Thad E Ginathom - that's how the site works, it's not a shop per se. FWIW, their Noble X IEMs are a bit wonderful for the price.

    @Torq - "Amazon Prime Now" has such a weird subset of the available lines, I've hardly ever found what I'm looking for there for same-day delivery. It's usually Prime next day - or two day from Amazon Europe at best..

    @Kattefjaes --- "That's how the site works"

    Could have a whole conversation about Massdrop.

    But, in this instance, I am talking about the time from *despatch* to delivery; not the time from an order placed before the drop closes. And I'm making allowances for overseas, India, customs, stuff...

    Oh don't get me started- my first order (the oh-so-pretty HD6xx) went fine, except the UK leg used Yodel, who lost the package for about a week, until I started going social media nuclear on their asses- and then it became mysteriously "unlost".

    Can't blame Massdrop for that bit, mind- most carriers seem to bite the wax-fattened tadpole. At least they used better carriers for the Noble-X.
