Which Weezer? Blue Album SACD?

I really love Disintegration, though I have yet to find a good sounding CD. It seems that every CD is compressed badly (I have four versions). Oh well, maybe I should just bite the bullet and get the LP.

I haven't discerned that it's overly compressed compared to a lot of pop albums and the numbers seem to agree with that:

I have always thought that the snare drum is a little oddly mixed on Pictures of You and other songs from the album.

I love Pictures of You though.. my favorite Cure song hands down at this time. When I was younger I was more into their early stuff.

You might be on to something with the odd snare drum. It might not be compression, as much as some other odd mixing choices that I'm hearing. The remaster was a disaster (as the link you provided noted).

I love the Cure and use Pictures of You as a test track. The shimmering high notes are a great way for me to hear the treble qualities of a signal chain.

My favorite song on that album remains The Same Deep Water As You. So many memories from that one.
