I've only seen one preview for it so far during casual TV watching but I imagine promo will ramp up in July. It has Harry Styles and Tom Hardy in it so maybe that will draw some younger viewers as well.

Fear not. It's just a movie. ;-) Actually though, many war movies have done well. Michael Moore films, less so.

The Nolan name sells. So does war. I think it will be fine, though probably won't reach the box office numbers he's used too.

A withdrawal/ retreat being a victory might be a tough sell to American movie-goers.

One of the few fails of 3. Reich early days, should be fine for masses. Frankly I'm tired of the 'hero movies' made to illustrate goodness of allies. Not all was evil from Germany.

The American psyche right now is kind of a mess. People will look for Toy Story 4 for relief. A war movie just isn't going to offer that, at face value.

I loved reading about WW2, and the theories that Hitler stopped the advance as a goodwill gesture to keep Britain out of the war. But you are right, American psyche probably prefers Avengers 6 or Harry Potter actors in real life Disney cartoons come to life.

I saw a preview for this before Rogue One, and it looked amazing. I've tried to find the same trailer online, but the ones I've found are different and not as cool. Will still go see though!

@Priidik, have you seen The Pacific? Doesn't romanticize as much as Band of Brothers.

Seems like Hacksaw Ridge did pretty good and that was even a war movie about a guy who refused to carry or shoot a gun.

Hacksaw Ridge was great. I also highly recommend the Band of Brothers and Pacific Blu-ray sets. And Imitation Game for another story I had never heard about a man and machine hugely influential to the allied victory.

I saw The Imitation Game just a few months ago for the first time. Is now one of my favorite WW2 movies.

May not bomb, but will it be a better movie than 'Paths Of Glory'? Unlikely.
