The way I see it, when you're within the HF echo-chamber it's hard to see things from the same detached perspective as we do here on SBAF. Marv is right that HF is about '1000 randos having 1000 positive opinions'. As such, it's real easy to get confused and stay confused, as your only source of information is noise, not signal.

@iandrono I saw that too. I felt like he possibly lost some cred though when he said that he put them on and, "I heard distortion on one song!" Or something to that effect.

True. I too wasn't quite sure if he was doing the opposite of shilling, like a competitor or something...

To me it's just that he immediately assumed that any audible distortion was coming from the headphones. Who knows what was causing any distortion but IMO it was most likely the recording he was listening to. He didn't even know what the recording was so that he could determine the source.l and it seems like it didn't occur to him that it could be something besides the phones.

Doesn't exactly make him seem like a trustworthy and experienced listener.
