When I see audio sites getting all frothed-up about phrases like "PTSD", I can only assume they mean "Post Tequila-Shots-Disorder" ... Oct 4, 2018

Nope, more just me wittering on things that I'm tempted to buy "just because". The lead time and/or logistics involved for some of them mean that they'll conflict with my impatience and won't ever happen. Other's just have to be in stock at the point I'm paying attention, can have it next-day, and that both those coincide with me being available to do anything with it when it does arrive.

Even just watching it, it's quite comical. But there is no scenario in which there's a BFW in port and I'm harassing it on a 20 foot plastic-coated plywood "boat" no matter what my beliefs or motivations were!

        Wow.

Biggest boats I ever sailed where 44-ft. One then-modern GRP ketch and an old British wooden cutter (Robert Clark? A brain cell suggests) that a friend of mine lived aboard.

Cutter was my favourite rig. I'm a wimp: I liked that foresail area being split. Looks nice too.

I stopped sailing because of ill health, and when it got better, I'd got into other things.

"Huron" update for PS Audio DirectStream model is a clear upgrade over "Torreys". FPGA DACs that don't allow field-upgrades waste potential.

I think it's either pride or product protection at work there. Linn support field upgrades, hell they EXPLOIT them, to great effect. Not always steps forward, or universally loved, but over time they're inarguably improving their products with very low user impact.

I've been on Huron for about a month and generally feel that upgrading Torreys to Huron is even more noticeable than Yale to Torreys. As a customer, it's encouraging to receive scaling improvements several years after a product launched. It seems very shortsighted for other FPGA DACs to ignore the capability completely.

I started to type pretty-much as soon as I could read and write, so my fingers have known their way, roughly, around a keyboard since I was six or younger. I did attempt touch typing, and unlearning the bad habits was impossible. So I used to take the machines apart in class.

        .45 ACP will do nicely.

I might be a Brit, with Euro sensitivities, but we'll start the bidding at 230 gr and .45 cal. After that, maybe a .40 S&W, and then maybe .38 Super (for my race-gun).
