    Not wrong. Just sounds like mice coughing a fit into a cavernous church, and the mice might keel over any second from overwork.

    There was a period (I think during NwAvGuy times) with some ultra cheap 9023 thumbdrive shaped DAC and people plugging headphonse straight in and claiming it's good.

    If it's the right-shaped pin, plug it in!

    But the results may be electrically and/or aesthetically unwise. I'm not an electronics guy at all, but in this case, I think the word is impedance?

    @Thad yeap, DAC outputs (even buffered) expect significantly higher impedances (and vanishingly low current) than headphones thirstily want.
