I think they do try to make money from customers on cables and adapters. But there is only so much they can do to pry your wallet open. Apple may be able to do better.
I spent 7 bucks on their 6.2 to 3.5mm cable adapter shipped via UPS. previously I spent 11 bucks for a new HD650 cable shipped via UPS. They aren't making money off these things.
@Delayeed I should have clarified - I'm not talking about BS boutique stuff. I'm talking about replacement cables etc.. As you know there are people who want to spend hundreds of dollars on cables so Sennheiser is going to make stuff for that market segment. They're not trying to make money on people just needing the regular cables and adapters.
Speaking of Cables & Adapters... Do you guys know of some sturdy, quality, but reasonably-priced, pre-fab or custom-made ones?
I saw a couple of small shops on Ebay/Etsy, Amazon and other random hidden places, but not familiar with most of them.
Or perhaps, Monoprice & BJC are still the better alternatives?
@DigMe I totally agree, was being a cheeky jerk lol
The quality of their cables is pretty insane... My HD598 cable was still going strong even though getting rolled on with a chair for a few years. I actually recently turned into a
4 Pin XLR - 6,3mm adapter.
@A1Gear - Ive bought several cables from VenusAudio on Ebay. That was before I read anything about him. He seems to provide good value for a good product, IME.
