Me too. Weird I got out "Can't Buy a Thrill" last night to check on my Gungnir Multibit. Listened to it 5 times for some reason. Reminds of my senior year in high school.
AJA has 2 excellent MCA masterings:
1) Ordinary US 80s MCA - more highs and less mids compared to below.
2) Uncredited Hoffman mastering. Found on some UK pressing. Fuller mids and less highs compared to above. I like them both. I like the Hoffman better but it is harder to find:
MCA UK MCLD 19145 "Mastered by Nimbus"
MCA UK DMCL 1745 / Mastered by Nimbus"
I'm sure I have 80's mastering around here somewhere. I own different copies of their first two albums. Including my original vinyl. But what box did I put them in?
Edit: Yup. Wait. June 80's 1st pressings went for $6.49. Now Aja is over $40.
Probably a bad time to buy Steely Dan LP/vinyl. Seems like it took a year before David Bowie stuff returned to normal prices. It is usually shorter than that. ($40 is not a bad price for either of those two UK Hoffman Aja CDs, after the word got out.)
"Plaid Back" US MCAs went for a small premium, probably more than that now. Mastering is about the same but "Plaid Back" came first, so a little more collectable.
