Props to him for putting his gear out there. We are very hard on gear. Many people here who are testing gear have much more experience and much better upstream and downstream equipment than HF.

Now you guys know why I wanted to stay far away. The Force: it's real.

Seems weird that he wants to un do the loaners though, not letting the rest try it.

Don't want to get bad reviews when you google the product methinks.

I feel bad that it didn't work out for them though. But, it is far better to hear the honest words of a single critic than the false flattery of a thousand fans.

The follow-up from his buddy is my favorite! Folks here can't possibly be objective, or even know what real instruments sound like.

The "nest of Schiit fanboys" image was almost poetic.

Yeah, his friend's comments are a bit illogical. Cheap DAC #1 reveals details expensive DAC #2 cannot. A child could make the comparison. FWIW, my TEAC UD503 revealed 5x more detail than the Aries, if you want a non-Schiit point of view. I don't see how being a violin loving Italian vs American has much to do with it (other than showcasing one's own prejudices).
