Yeah. He said it was district ban. Some kid broke leg at another elementary school. So now no straws and no tag. Yet kids continue to secretly use straws and play fishy, which has same rules as tag.
Seems to me like a problem is been given a "solution". From now on all elementary kids should stop eating. It can lead to severe cholesterol issues and eventual heart failure.
I quit teaching in June but we always had such mandates coming down from admin that we didn't care about. Once they let the district pest control guy speak at a faculty meeting and he told us if we killed a bug ourselves we could be fined 10 grand. We could only "relocate" them. I def didn't stop killing bugs as needed.
@DigMe sounds like Union talk to me, I'm learning the in 'n outs of the SoCal Union's. I just joined a very large organized gang, board members with full sleeve tattoo's, I kid you not.
@JK47 I'm very glad that we don't have unions and collective bargaining for teachers here. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are teachers and they do collective bargaining in their state and I don't like what I see for several reasons.
