Ah! Something I cooked up custom. It's a "nearfield tower" - 42" tall x 18" wide x 12" deep, ~125 liters volume. f3 point calculates at 47 Hz. I'll be able to run the Eminence 12CX in a coaxial configuration, and I'm also building a 300Hz Edgarhorn midrange to see if I prefer a 3-way system with the same 12CX woofer.
Oh, that sounds interesting! What compression driver you plan to use? I used to have the APT50, but then changed to the Seleniums. My own CX12 are in 50 liter sealed boxes.
I snagged 4 APT50's mostly cause they're cheap :) 2 for the coaxial setup, and 2 to use with this tweeter horn (http://bit.ly/2gDJl4x) to take over from the Edgarhorn at ~4k. I'm curious how you liked the APT50?
That will probably depend on your crossover... The APT50 can get "hissy" if you try to hard to get a flat response. Value for money is excellent though. I still use them in my CX8 builds.
Gocha. At first I’ll use my minidsp for active XO (plus a series capacitor for tweeter protection) so I can experiment with XO settings. What’s worked welll for you?
