Maybe I haven't found the right sites yet but I have never seen such dickish behavior on speaker forums as on headphone forums.

Cheaper upfront + smaller range of costs -> more accessible -> crossover from younger gaming/PC enthusiast circles -> lower maturity level + internet culture that values controversy over substance -> lots of dickish behavior.

Just try telling an audiophool, especially a wealthy one, that he is talking crap. Not only will he kick you in the balls, but all the young wannabe-wealthy-phools that hang on his every word will apply their boots to your head.

People that think James Brown is the hardest working man in show business have not heard of Buckethead. 29 albums in 2017 alone.

Buckethead is indeed in a class of his own. Some fresh Praxis material would also be nice, if he has time.

Man, he churns out albums faster than I can listen to them! Granted, I'm only really familiar with some of his earlier stuff (LOVE Giant Robot), but it's almost intimidating.

Like trying to read One Piece from the beginning.

I remember vividly the first time ever being at a museum (in Houston) and viewing originals from some of the greats. I was in high school and it was blowing my mind that I was looking at this Picasso just an arm’s length in front of me. I really need to get to some more of the great art museums.

Yeah, 160db is perma-damage territory. That being said I don’t know if going that loud at 30Hz is as damaging as the same volume at 1kHz.

Heck, I don’t even know if hearing protection works at low frequencies. Whenever I see Innerfidelity graphs, even the best isolating IEMs do poorly blocking out low frequencies.

160db at 30Hz might be more into organ damage territory.

Also noticed the amp is regulated from a single supply. I think I’ll put off building the linear supply and use an SMPS power brick. Hopefully the regulator does a pretty good job of the switching noise coming from the SMPS.

Looking at the comments for the Plus IEMs, I don’t think the average Massdrop user understands that the people at Massdrop are mostly enthusiasts / engineers / audiophiles and know what they’re doing. They aren’t just “organizing group buys.”
