A ZDTJr plus Modi Multibit plus Eitr would be roughly the same price.

Depends. I don't particularly like the BA-ness of the Andro and can't really live with it alone, but most can. Have you heard the Andro before?

That's hard... Andro with zx2 beats most 650 plus midfi setups I've heard but then you're stuck jamming metal thingies into your ears. Also if you want to be able to hear stuff going on around you that's not great either.

Also zdt plus Modi Multibit might sound special even if Andros take the cake on technicalities.

That's exactly what I've done. The Andromeda sounds so great with the right source that my headphone appetite is satiated and I've gotten more enjoyment from working on my 2 channel setup.

I plan on stopping at HD 6xx and Massdrop Plus IEMs. Not that there aren't better things in headphonedome but id rather devote the rest on my spending towards speakers.

Andromeda vs. HD650 might be more about how you plan to use them. Commuting or sitting back at home? Regardless, focus on 2 channel :)

As much as I love the ZX2/Andro pairing, I still prefer the HD650 setup. Either way, 2ch is the way to go.

As much fun as headphones are they can't beat a well set up two channel system. You just can't change the laws of physics.

I currently work from home where most listening is done on my Overnight Sensations and HD650 when I need to be quiet. Might start spending more time at a co-working space while my partners and I finish building our new offices, so was thinking a good IEM might be the direction I want to go.

If things go as planned, the HD650s, as much as I love them, might not get that much use in the future.

If you are listening mostly at work and you don't want to bother others and don't get startled when someone taps you on the shoulder because you can't hear them. IEM's might be a plan. I use my Beyer DT-1350's at work. No bother to others but I can hear others yelling at me. :)

I wear Beyer DT250 at work when I might be interrupted and Campfire Lyra II when I need to really concentrate. I highly recommend an IEM if you wear glasses and/or need to focus.
