I never watch awards shows. Sick in bed and bored so I turned on the Grammys. Such a joy to see Tracy Chapman up there! What an icon. Feb 4, 2024

Wife got me the $49 year of Murfie special for Christmas. So worth it. Includes 12 Murfie owned albums and free FLAC rips among other perks.

In order to get the $49 deal you have to log into your account before purchasing. It should say $49 before you click the purchase link.

If you’re unfamiliar with buying CD’s through Murfie then ask me any questions. I’ve purchased enough now to know the ins and outs. I thought it was awkward at first but I grew accustomed and it fits my specific needs perfectly.

Currently have the HP-3/Magni 3/Loki loaner. Was prepared to hate the Magni 3 but I’m actually pretty impressed by it in initial listening.

Need more time but I'd say that the Magni possibly has better synergy with HP-3 than the Vali 2 does. I think it tames some of the energy on both ends that I found a bit overbearing with the HP-3 + Vali 2.

We should start up SBAFcoin. The logo could have an S but instead of lines through it making it into a dollar sign it will have a schlong through it.

West German RCA 'Low' is the one to get, IMO. I have no complaints about the sound on that one, unlike all of the others (including Japanese RCA). 2017 is DR9.

HD280Pro *IF* you don't mind the idea of a bit of EQ to fill in the upper bass hole. Cheap, folding, good isolation, rugged.

Can't beat wireless for convenience; I have Avantree Audition, lo-fi and boxy rolled off sound (fixable with EQ) but also light and cheap, controls on the left earcup.

Momentum if you want to pay more - Dr Higgs is selling some.

My bro was asking about buying TFZ IEM's off of MD. I suggested he wait for another RE-00 drop instead. Any other ideas in the $35 range?

I think $35 is probably about the max he'll spend on IEM's but I know nothing about IEM's in this price range. No buds suggestions please.

Philips stuff is actually damn good for the price, and I don't cry too much whenever the wires on mine give out (extremely unpleasant Philippine weather + my super acidic skin, hah). I remember gifting my sister the SHE3582 (maybe?) a year or two ago and trying them on; not bad at all for under 1500 pesos (~$29?).

I currently use the SHE9850 as a sorta-cheap beater pair. All the cheapo Philips IEMs I've tried have this forgiving sound profile that's more bottom-and-mid centric, which works for a lot of modern tracks.
