I absolutely hated it, I walked out of the theater feeling robbed, sad even. Very disappointed. As much as I really loved Rogue One, I disliked this movie.
This one seems to be dividing people right down the middle. Critics love it, metacritic and RT user scores are in the 50's. I have a suspicion that, broadly, people who grew up with the original trilogy may be less inclined to appreciate this one, but the millennials will love it. Personally, I'm 46 and thought it sucked arse.
I grew up on the originals. I'd give this one an 8/10. Star Wars fanbase is extremely hard to please (idk why, until Disney stepped in there was only ever 2 good movies, the other 4 being complete crap).
There also seems to be a lot of complaints about Rey, usually with arguments that don't make any sense.
I'm 29, I grew up on the original trilogy, watched them so many times I wore out the VHS. I hated the prequels, but I really like the new movies. There were some things about this movie that I didn't like, but overall I thought it was great.
I... I have no idea how anyone who grew up on Starwars could even accept this movie, much less say Anything positive about it. I'm not going in to detail yet to avoid spoilers but I have no respect for this movie. And again, I'm not a hater, I LOVED Rogue One.
