I bought the "Dekoni Premium Ear Pads" and tried on my HD650M. They suck. Sounded like listening through a paper towel tube.

I've been super interested in getting pads for my hd 6xx but not if its at the expense of sound quality.

@sfoclt well they’re probably tuned for stock, would be interesting to see a comparison between modded with stock pads and stock with Dekoni’s.

So long as they last for more than the 3-odd years the stock velours do and don't change the sound too much, I'm game. Thanks Marv!

    P.S.
Just got new pads for the HD650s and holy crud the sound is much better.

Measurements of pads are probably wrong anyway, just tell us how they sound. Dekoni HD800 pads would be interesting too

I've never succeeded in finding third-party pads that sound as good as the official ones, so your conclusions could be interesting, if they're any good.

Interested in the graphs. The elite velours sounded bad and would only be worse on a stock headphone. Usually the further you stray from the stock material, the more fucked the FR gets.

If someone could just create pads identical to the stock pads that kept their stiffness and shape longer.

Dekoni lamb skin pads perforated for th-x00 look beautiful. But, who can trust about the sound?
