If you were forever stranded on a deserted island, which 10 records (double albums count as one) would you want to have to enjoy? "Best of ...." is not allowed. It is not easy for me to prepare my own list. Here are some of my top candidates in no particular order:
    Beatles: Sgt. Pepper
    Blurt: Live in Berlin
Thomas Dolby: The Golden Age of Wireless (original release)
    Tubeway Army: Replicas
    JS Bach: Brandenburg Concertos
    Rush: Permanent Waves
    Sonic Youth: Washing Machine
    Radiohead: The Bends
    Brahms: 4th symphony
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Fever to Tell

I love Led Zeppelin but I can't think of one album which I love from start to finish. Probably Physical Graffiti is the top candidate

    What would make your list?

    Good question...

James Brown & The JB's - In The Jungle Groove
    Beethoven - Symphony No. 5
    Tool - Lateralus (The Gift)
    David Bowie - Low
King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
Kate Bush - Before The Dawn
John Butler Trio - John Butler Trio (their first album)
Florence + The Machine - MTV Unplugged
    Beethoven - Symphony No. 6
    Gorillaz - Demon Days

These ten albums can keep me happy for a long time. There is something for every mood...

Two times Beethoven? Yes two times Beethoven.

That wasn't too hard. I just started typing albums that I have listened to countless times and never tire of. I was thinking what Faust album to include and saw that the list was 14 already. So Faust didn't make it and I cut the list down to 10 (that was kind of hard).

    Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
    Beatles - "White Album"
    Kinks - The Kink Kronikles
    Iggy Pop - The Idiot
    Frank Zappa - Uncle Meat
    David Bowie - Hunky Dory
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground (Closet Mix)
    The Band - The Band
    Can - Ege Bamyasi
    Big Star - Radio City

In no particular order, with a bunch of guilty pleasures. While there are quite a few albums I'd rate higher than some of these, this what I'd want to be stuck with.

    4. Jem - Finally Woken
    5. Rjd2 - Deadringer
    6. A Fine Frenzy - Pines
    7. Rhye - Woman
    8. Rachael Yamagata - Elephants... Teeth Sinking into Heart
    9. Lenka - Two
    10. Katie Melua - Piece by Piece

    Honorable Mentions:
The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium
    Jessie Ware - Devotion
John Mayer - Where the Light Is
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Diana Krall - Live in Paris

I was deciding between The Bends and OK Computer and would have picked the latter, but I really hate "Electioneering" which spoils what would otherwise be a perfect album.

Reign in Blood is a perfect album. So is their South of Heaven, even if it is a bit slower, and the debut Rage Against the Machine. Now to adjust my list...

Great lists. Can't do this on my iPad properly. Later. But here's a start. Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's (new remix) the White Album (really titled The Beatles), and Abbey Road. Yep 50% Beatles. What can I say. If I am on a dessert island, I'm going to need something to keep me smiling.

Barenaked Ladies - Gordon (tough choosing which album)
    Van Halen - 1984

This list would be completely different if you asked me in 6 months I'm sure...
