Took a chance on a passive preamp with no real reviews.
I noticed the seller on ebay also posted some of his firstwatt amp builds on diyaudio and they were very impressive visually. Flawless construction especially his tower F5. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass...-your-diy-pass-amplifier-277.html#post4030992

So I received this today and I'm using it with my gov2 and speaker amp and I really enjoy the woodwork of the faceplate and remote. Brass volume knob is nice too. It uses a nothing special motorized alps rk27 pot. It works fully passively with no power plugged in with input1/output1 functional. Then you can plug in a 12v 500ma wall wart to do remote volume adjustment and input switching/mute.

Sound is just what you'd expect from a passive.. totally neutral and uncolored.
