Anyone have knowledge of importing an excel file, into Adobe DC using a fillable form? My employees enter information into our software program, which allows us to export reports in Excel. I need to take the information from Excel and have it fill out my fillable pdf.

So, I save the file as a .txt file (tab delimited), it has the appropriate headers, which match the fillable pdf. Problem is when I look to import using Adobe, I see the file, but it won't let me import. I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?

Using an iMac. OS X 10.12.3 Sierra. Using Adobe DC Pro and Microsoft Office online. I've created fillable forms in the past, created sheets and forms online, have had no issues in the past autopopulating.

Someone please help. This is driving me crazy!!! I can't import anything into Adobe, not one file is highlighted, they are all greyed out.

Do you happen to have Standard licenses on the account too? I mean, it sounds like it's giving you the DC Standard permissions and not Pro. I haven't had any license level issues with DC myself, but it wouldn't be the first piece of software to screw up permissions.

No, paid. Plus, I can do everything else. Just not import.

Hmm. I'll take a look at work tomorrow if you haven't had any luck by then.

Thanks bro, I really appreciate it. If I can't figure it out or can't find someone that can, I have to hire another person for data entry. Besides the cost, which is not the biggest issue, it's finding someone. The labor pool in South Florida is less than ideal.

The horror stories I have of trying to find semi qualified people...

hi @Warrior, I don't have Adobe DC myself or attempted to do this task, so take these guide/approach with a grain of salt:

    http://khkonsulting.com/2015/10/batch-import-excel-data-into-pdf-forms/
    http://superuser.com/questions/972659/batch-fill-pdf-form-from-excel-csv-tsv

And.. lastly, this seems to be what you're trying to do, but can't, anything to takeaway from it?

Hope you can get this sorted out.

Thanks, that's the same website I found yesterday and followed exactly what they said. Just so weird, my options are greyed out for importing a file.

My import options were greyed out until I went to More -> Clear Form. I don't know why this would work since I hadn't entered anything yet, but it did.

Yes, I have that. But once I click import, I can't import any files. Everything is greyed out. Csv, txt, word, xls, etc.

You can try import data, but you've gotta set up the XML tags for data merge. I only know this in InDesign (old CS6) to Acrobat with Livecycle inbetween, haven't messed with creative cloud. But yes, you've gotta clear form data first.

If you're in Acrobat, don't worry about XML. I was referring to creating a data merge in InDesign.

Good lord... Guy has control over my computer. He can't get it. Tells me to type some info into one of the fields, exports it from Adobe, then reimports it and tells me it works. Lol. How does that help me? I don't need to import and export from Adobe. I need to import the information from Excel. They are escalating it.
