Yeah, and they're still going- and they've finally learned a bit about actually playing their instruments! They only existed because they needed something to do in the jobless wasteland of Merseyside in the Thatcher years, but accidentally became a very niche but very culty band. They're full of weird musical and cultural references and very dry jokes (some of which took me literally years to fully unpack), and won't fully make sense to most non-brits. However, that doesn't manner, as they make a glorious noise.

I will try to restrain myself on the topic, but here's a more recent one:

Why is it so hard to articulate for the vocalist? Sounds like a mutated baby behind the microphone.

Looks like they have quite a bit of material on Tidal. I know what I'll be listening to at work today.....
I completely see where you're coming from regarding cultural references...There's a ton of stuff I grew up listening to where I had absolutely no clue as to the meaning. With a combination of a thick accent, regional slang terms, and local political references, there's no way a Yank can decipher the true meanings. Having spent a short time in the UK really didn't help much either. You've got to be totally submerged in the culture for an extended time for it to make sense.

Although there are probably some things we say in certain regions of the US that confuse Brits, so it works both ways.

Hey, I watched and enjoyed The Wire without my face falling off, so it's all good with me... (fx: ducks rapidly)

Growing up is weird though- it's interesting to revisit things to see all the jokes, filth and arch observations that sailed clean over your head at the time..

Oh, if you do go on an HMHB binge, I can highly recommend the album "Trouble Over Bridgewater", if Tidal has it, by the way.

This isnt super new - but the new Bon Iver has been in heavy rotation over here. Very different from his other stuff. I like it - probably like 33 God a bit more, but album should be played straight though.

Real Estate's first album is noticeably less polished than their later albums, and more atomspheric and jangly. This song in particular is just great. It gives me such a nostalgic feel, and I can't shake the feeling that I recognize the melody since the first time I heard it, but I can't place where that's from. (Anybody know anything with this melody?)

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has announced a new album for Feb 24 2017, they released this track on the 21st.

While it's not quite as fun as Gamma Knife it still sounds quite interesting, quite a few good features on it too as shown here:

Joshua Radin/ Onward And Sideways. Mellow but pretty cool. Sounds fantastic on 650's
