Thanks for that. BTW did you read where Rhiannon Giddens won a MacArthur Fellowship? Impressive.

I didn’t. Have your heard the Kronos Quartet album Folk Songs from this year? Really good. She has some songs on it along with Natalie Merchant and a couple of others.

EDIT: haha! I just saw that I already posted about that album a few posts back

Anyone here listen to The Sadies?

Kurt Vile raved about them in an NPR interview and the track they played was great. I need to get some more of their stuff in hand...

Haven’t listened to them yet but saw them on Apple Music recently. Must have a new album out.

I never really got into them but it's cool they're still together. Sometimes a band that doesn't click for you will really hit the mark later on (I was like wtf when I first heard Tom Waits but now I love a lot of his stuff) so there's still hope. Richmond Fontaine is the band from that alt-country era that held up the best for me.

I do everything digital to my PC because I’m moving overseas soon. So I buy CD’s and rip them but for the Nonesuch sale the other day I bought a couple of albums as FLAC download.

Scored this album at Goodwill for a dollar when I stumbled across someone's donated americana CD collection. This first tune gave me chills. Sounds so good through the HD650's.

Thats ironic, i was just listening to that yesterday, a fantastic album. Dan Tyminski has a great voice in his own right, it really adds to the texture of the album that he fronts the vocals on a few songs. If you didnt know, he was George Clooney's singing voice on 'O Brother Where Art Thou'.

One of the CD's I got from that Goodwill that had all the indy folk was a Trampled by Turtles live CD. The presence of this track was what attracted me as I was a huge Pixies fan in HS and college.
