Didn't see a thread on these, but they look promising. Any SBAFers have a chance to try these at CanJam Socal?

    Features:
    • $1200 USD MSRP
    • Magnesium cups, stock carbon fiber headband
    • No fazors
    • Approx. 350-400g weight

Likewise. If they've managed to manage to fix that "three points of discomfort" thing (very top of head and a small patch on each cheek taking the weight), that'd be half the battle. If the tuning manages to avoid the upper-mid suckout too, then they really could be onto something.

Either way, a smart move. With Dr. Da Bian pricing himself out with his self-destructing geegaws, the time is right to launch decent $1000-$2000 cans. The QA needs to be solid and they need to be relatively well-tweaked, no "update" every six months. However, the market is wide open right now- the Eikon and the HD800 could use some better opposition, especially some that caters to the planar folks.

Never thought I'd say this about an audeze can, but these look pretty interesting. Seems like they actually made an attempt to make some improvements at a fair price for once.

Might be safer to wait for v2.7 w/ holo blasters though.

I wonder if this will replace the LCD2, or maybe shift the price down... 1.2k is very close to 1k, and I'd think you'd want to space your products out a little more.

While it looks like a step in the right direction (i.e. I might be able to wear these for more than half an hour before my neck starts to cry). They still have to sound the same from pair to pair and that sound actually has to be ok. Still a few hoops to go through. Nice-ish price though.

I've lost all interest in Audeze.

The lack of interest was created by their intentional revision subterfuge and product line confusion. If they can't make driver revisions transparent and understandable to their customers, so that customers actually know WTF they are buying, then I have no interest in doing business with them. As it sits, trying to do the bloody painful research on all the LCD-2 revisions alone is completely maddening. That information that should be present to me up front, by Audeze themselves, clear as day, nuff said, period. I shouldn't have to resort to HF posts and self-proclaimed LCD experts for that.

It's this kind of OEM fuckery we've all decried HFM for (pricing, Fang-fuckery, revisions, customer service, and build quality, in HFM's case), just in a more subtle way. Or instead of subtle, maybe they just haven't caught the shit they deserve like HFM has. I dunno.

No need to do stress test on the bands, just put them on and let us know...

I like the price point. Will be interesting to compare with MrSpeakers Aeon, I would like to get another planar at some point but so far every release is meh...too expensive and unreliable.

Bah, my neck hurt for the first 3 weeks or so with LCD-2, but after a while it adapted. Now when people try to snap my neck, I just do a counter turn and rip their arms out.

Weight with LCD-2, -3, and -X were never a problem for me either.
Ear heat was... vegan pads were better.

God I need to get a tattoo. I bet this guy has way more success with the ladies than I do.

How the hell can this be pro if it won't stay on your head? Audeze has no clamp and needs the weight to not go flying just bobbing your head around. The LCDs already fall off if you bend over to adjust the volume. Pro needs clamp.

Hopefully, this won't suck and will sound good like the supposedly existing unicorn preFazors + LCD-X's ability to not sound like ass 75% of the time, just gritty.

If you reach over to adjust a volume on your desk, the LCD 2/3/4/X are in danger of falling off your head.

Listening to metal appropriately requires a little head banging from time to time.
