I'm going for the first time this year, anyone else? Anything I should make sure I don't miss while there?

Say Hi to my good friend Jim Stern of Earful Recording/Mastering. He should be at the Tascam booth.

Acronyms (not abbreviations) are mandatory for exhibitions these days? o_O

    But hey... enjoy!

Zach from ZMF will be there and will have the Eikon and Atticus. Mr. Speakers (Dan) is usually in attendance and so is the Campfire/ALO audio crew. It's a great show to listen to headphones, though I recommend going earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds and get more time to listen to the various rigs.

I went last year, didn't check out the headphones section, but it was a good time. I'll probably go this year if only to hear the vidar.

Acoustic Zen usually sets up a good room, and they're showing the Crescendo mkII (if it's an improvement on the original, it should be a must see). I'd also recommend stopping by the Modwright/Daedalus room. Dan Wright is nice, and even if you don't enjoy whatever speaker Daedalus brings, their woodworking is just superb.

Last year I didn't get upstairs at all, I was just stuck at my booth the whole time. Probably will happen again this year, even though we have a room.

I highly recommend that anyone wanting to listen to specific headphone gear makes a plan and hits those spots right when the show opens. Also lunchtime had a huge lull, but that's less predictable.

I just found out that Jantzen will be debuting their "24 months in development" hybrid electrostatic headphones when we got an email asking about borrowing an amp. Could this be the Dharma killer everyone didn't know they were waiting for?!

Any room with Border Patrol stuff has been among my favorite at any show. This is a tainted statement because I sell Border Patrol stuff, but really the guy lives close and I really liked his stuff so I asked if he wanted to have things available to listen to publicly instead of nowhere and he said sure, if you're not lame. Even if we end up lame and he takes his stuff home, I'll still tell you to listen to his rooms.

There will be a "quiet room" downstairs (where Woo was last year) for close headphone listening that will either be really enjoyable or something else.

I second Daedelus. The Elekit table always makes me feel good. If you stop by our table I'm happy to talk about anything including and not including the products in front of me, and happy to tell you everything I don't know so that you might be able to fill me in.

Keep an eye out for David Robinson.

Thinking about Saturday, it's a 5+ hour drive for me. Anyone going?

I'll be there Saturday. I plan to go to the Headfi social at lunch to see some old friends.

I was in a hotel nearby for a meeting so popped along just after it opened. Given the queues for the elevators when I left, I'd recommend going as early as you can if you're going to the rooms (Schiit are on the 4th floor). It was good to me Jason in person and get a listen to the Vidar. Now I just have to wait for the production versions...and whatever announcement is coming next month (he didn't give any details away but someone else might be able to get more out of him!)
