Ive never heard of Suarez but I'm not really that much of an expert. I know I'm probably have to trade hard for quite a bit of these beers on the list, if any of you are willing to trade for some blackberry farms...(I don't have much here in TN) or pay up front costs of shipping & beers let me know!!

I'm O.K. with whatever you decide. Might be a good idea to do one style at a time. So many different beers out there. I know I can't keep track of all the new micro brews out here.

Will at Massdrop recently conducted a wonderful test. Pliny vs. Heady Topper vs. Sip of Sunshine. CA vs VT.

Damn, Heady Topper is something else. Waves of different flavor with a mouthfeel that makes the carbonation seem different (light/creamy but also substantial). And Sip is so easy, floral, citrus.

Three of the best beers, all different.

Wow @jacq, I literally came home with a couple bottles of Ommegang "Game of Thrones - Bend the Knee" yesterday, funny to read it here too.

I'll also suggest Rohrbach Brewing Company - specifically their Scotch Ale. Though I'm not sure how far out of the local area their distribution goes...

While I'm partial to Stouts and IPA's, I'm not faithful to any one brand because I like to try different stuff out. Often my buying decision is influenced by whats on sale and if I haven't tried it before or not. My local Drug Store/ Beverage place has a decent selection of beer that changes quite a bit, and they always have a crusty old palette of "fire sale" beer where you can usually get a case for about the price of a sixer. A lot of times it's just cases of Keystone Light that's about to expire so I pass. But sometimes I can get some pretty good quasi-microbrew stuff really cheap.

My go-to cheap beer for when I want to get really pissed....Steel Reserve. It reminds me of the Old Style my dad use to drink when I was a kid and I would boost one once in a while. Only Steel Reserve is a lot booooozier.

A friend and I decided to buy a load of different craft beer last week and this one was really the best of the lot:

While the name doesnt suggest it, its really fruity and flavourful! I'd say its one of the nicest beers I've ever tasted!

I haven't had it.. I used to be mostly stouts but I decided to go do stouts before leaving Florida. Most of the beers I've tried uses mosaic, galaxy... citra of course. The rest I don't know.

If you ever see one of these at a bottleshop or bar, give it a try.

If we're talking about road trips to see beer, you absolutely have to see Sierra Nevada's brewery in Mills River, NC. I've spent my entire career in process manufacturing facilities throughout the US and Sierra Nevada's is the most beautiful large facility I've ever been in.

    I am in the D.C.-area
Maryland: Heavy Seas Loose Canon or Peg Leg are great or Union Old Pro or Flying Dog IPAs
Pennsylvania: Troegs has an interesting and tasty Hibiscus IPA called Crimson Pistil and a nice Raspberry Gose called Scratch 284

    Funny coincidence!

So after I posted I went to the store and got a case of Sierra Nevada Sidecar Orange Pale Ale on fire sale close out. $10 after deposits and tax. SCORE!

I'm not usually into the fruity stuff but it isn't too overpowering. It wouldn't be my first choice at retail price, but it's not too bad.

wow this thread went crazy good in a lot of ways but was too busy to respond in a timely manner.
    a few thoughts:

    1. @jacq knows quality brews and helped me with a belgium beer favor! cheers for continuing this quality beer thread.
am looking for the 101 Like button.

    2. the state beer list has merit, but please never drink from cans. no matter what the bearded craft beer dude spilled into it.
sorry. you package it that way, you ruin it IME.

    3. if anyone visits Boulder County Colorado and you skip http://www.12degree.com in Louisville, you get dislikes and travel #fails.
it's a World Beer Cup winner and a slice of Belgium in my backyard. I drank here for 7 hours at my birthday party, and only wished for a cot to stay longer.

    4. does the Sierra facility in NC usually have their Ovila branded beers on tap? if so- that would be a must visit.
all of their Ovila brews over the years from blonde to plum quads have been other worldly.

    5. failing all of the above, Boulevard Sixth Glass can open and close the evening. anytime.
