    I guess that is the sound I am looking for. I have enjoyed listening to multiple amps and I have always gone back to the V281. I do understand the dislike for cold and sterile but I really enjoy it.

    So I just got the Vali 2 and Modi 2 today!!!! But its not working sadly. I have everything hooked up right I believe but I wanted to ask if the amp just needs to warm up or something. I have an Amperex 7308 tube and plugged it in but the amp doesn't look like its warming it up. So IDK what to do :/

    Check source selector on Modi. Make sure it's set to USB or whatever you are using.
    Vali takes 15 seconds or so to turn on.
    Try stock tube with Vali. You should see filament light up. Make sure it's not your vintage tube.
    Try another source with Vali. Confirm it's not Modi.

    Use tbe stock tube just for problem solving and make sure the correct input is selected on the Modi 2. What is your source?

    You got your Modi Multibit today, but I have my Gungnir Multibit (gungnir multibit) not shipped yet. Feeling quite sad for myself..

    Before you ditch your previous gears, I suggest you try careful comparisons among different combinations (e.g. previous dac + vali2, Modi Multibit + previous amp, and so on). I am pretty sure that benefits you enjoy now come from Modi Multibit and vali2 separately. Figuring out how each part contribute to the final sound will be purely interesting IMO.

    I felt the older models were on the slightly warm side rather than cold. The V281 is better than the old ones and I quite like it, but is not something I would recommend for the price.
