Any ideas on a good place to buy the Beyer T1 Gen 2 in the USA?

Yeah, yeah, I know. This is against my better judgment since we all know the T1 Gen 2 will be $599 after a year; but I am curious, from a pain-boy point of view. The HF thread on it makes me cringe, e.g. people making excuses for a DOA T1: "oh it was damaged in shipping!" (Funny how Sennheiser's don't get damaged in shipping.) So that makes me want to grab this even more.

SBAF funds will be used, so this will be on the loaner program.

If I bought a T1v2 for $1399, and it sucked, I would be so so so mad.

I've had great dealings with Sonic and Razor Dog. Either way. Definitely intrigued by these!

EDIT: yeah, apologies. I don't read good.

honestly I am as well, but they are just so expensive -if they were awesome then that'd be great but like purrin said, if they sucked, that would be horrible. I dunno, I guess a few members are looking into trying to get a deal on them for purrin - perhaps if purrin checked them out after he purchased them he could decide if they are worth the money or if he should return them because the price-to-performance ratio is no good.

I was a big fan of Beyer's until I heard Sennheiser headphones. I own the HD650's and love them and the HD800's are my dream headphones - so yeah I would be interested in checking on the T1's - if they are worth it.

The T1v2 was at the top of the request list. Whether it sucks or not, we must obtain the T1v2 for science, and also to satisfy our own wicked curiosity. It's one of those things that many of us want to know, but really don't want to know, but kind of want to know.

We also want to see the Beyer designers' fingers put in between two of the 1 Tesla magnets of the drivers. Now that would be satisfying.

I will say this. The new Tesla Driver I heard was a massive improvement over the old driver. For those really upset about the atrocity that was over the original T1 driver I really hope you give the v2 a chance as I thought though it wasn't perfect it was however a lot better (like you can actually enjoy listening to this headphone).

That and yes, a lot of people voted for it (most requested headphone if memory serves me right)

Yeah, but Nick, you don't seem to be treble sensitive like me or OJ, or hyper-treble sensitive like Hans. We likes our treble smooth.

@purrin - does that mean the treble on the T1 v2's are treble-heavy? I know some people have stated they thought the HD800's had a lot of treble, but I loved them - sounded perfect to me, but I also did eq them a bit, and they were modded on the loaners I had.

I had a chance to hear them at RMAF, and they are significantly less bright than the T1.1.

Also, the MSRP is 1099, so anyone charging 1399 is, well, off.

Oh, sign me up for the loaner :)
