Very interesting, I can see that working well, tempted to try it with the original CA foam tips. I actually stopped using them because they're totally open. Having debris (not just wax but dust, fibers from the case, etc) getting into the nozzle seemed like a bad idea. I'm surprised they ship them with such tips and no filter.

Been using Comply TX-400 and they're pretty nice. I don't notice much difference in sound compared to the CA ones. Going to teabag those now, no point in wasting them. Also have some TSX-400 but I haven't used them yet. I think the only difference is that they're olive-shaped. That shape was really comfy on the Shure 846, so I'm gonna give it a try.

In a post Andromeda world, one thing that stands out is how impossibly smooth yet detailed Andromeda treble is...

One thing that pops out for me is that i rarely come to this site anymore :/ and when i do i just check the few subscribed threads that have comments and leave again.

I just want for nothing from the andros...

Haha my bad man, I just open the site and lose motivation these days. I'm not really looking for anything which hasn't happened in a long time

I most definitely did. And I bought a GO2A to use with them at home, but that very rarely happens, they get used almost exclusively out of my iPhone SE, but I do listen to them for probably 5 hours a day at least.

This thread is a big reason why I decided to purchase these earphones. The comparisons to the uerm helped as that's something I wish I never sold and now they are discontinued. I know I'm late to the party however I recently got back into audio after selling most of my gear a while back. There was b stock available a few days ago and couldn't resist.

Campfire Audio is now offering lightning terminated Litz Cables. Not sure what DAC they're using in the connector. If it's the same as the one in the standard Apple lightning->3.5mm dongle, seems like it would be more inconvenient to swap the cable than to carry the dongle along. On the other hand I wonder how the lightning cable affects the output impedance from the phone.

The phone in this case has no relevant OI since it outputs digital (there's the digital impedance, but not relevant) I'd think, but depends on what chip you use instead.

Obviously the reason I ask that is because I wonder what sort of sonic signature the Andros will exhibit when using that cable.

In order to get that wife acceptance factor up, I've join the club(kinda). Wifey auditioned the Andromeda during Canjam couple of weeks back and really likes it, so just bought her one today.

Dunno how to attach a pic tho

Hahaha, this is a necessary step for building my first proper desktop setup. Not gonna ruin it by posting her pic without consent

More than 2 weeks later and the first set of teabag paper is still holding up.

Re my previous post about the Andros making all my other phones obsolete, I didn't listen to them much over the weekend and then plugged my HD650Ms for an enjoyable session last night. Today at work I put on my Blackwoods and have been enjoying them as well. Noble X are waiting for me when I get home, so this has been an nice (unplanned) brain-unburn in preparation for them.

I posted in @Torq's thread, but if anybody has a chance to try Andros with the new Fiio X5 3rd Gen, do share your impressions.

I'm planning on buying them this week assuming B&H gets them in stock when I go. They are supposed to have them in stock tomorrow but that could be inaccurate. I bought the opus#1 for the Andromeda however I didn't like the pairing too much as the earphone pairing was not quiet.

I do wish I still had the uerm. It's been too long since I heard them but I do recall liking the presentation of them better than the Andromeda. I still like them a lot and don't anticipate getting rid of these earphones anytime soon. It could very well be source related so I'll see in the next couple of weeks.

    I tried it at CanJam:

Edit: Just realized OI for balanced and SE are different. I believe I used the balanced output during my audition. The SE OI seems like it would be too low for my liking.

I've been lurking on this thread trying to figure out the best source for my Andros (with foam tips).. I find the Mojo and Dragonfly Red too warm because of low IO (great sound still for those that prefer warm tilt, just not for me), I tried the ifi iematch with both of these to bring the impedance up to about 2 and this works in lowering the bass but also squashes the dynamics and takes away the magic fairy dust.. am I right in saying that the best neutralish balanced HD600-esque source for the Andros is the Sony ZX2? Is there anything else, I don't care if DAP/usb I just wanted to find the most synergetic balanced source

Edit: I got the ZX2 and can confirm it is better (more balanced) combination than the Chord Mojo with the Andro. as was mentioned before. I have the EU version which is volume capped and at full volume my Pinnacle P1 is at reasonable volume and has surprising synergy, but I certainly would like it louder, this is with the audio enhancements disabled - quite surprised that Sony would neuter it like this. I can only hope someone will manage to root the device and find a way to disable the cap

    Hello Andromeda community,

    Anyone using Andromeda with AK70?
I'm experiencing a weak sub bass slam, quite shallow mids and extended but sometimes rough highs with the dap.
Does anyone have a similar problem?
And how can I improve it?
