Get HD650+Jotunheim (and keep for ten years). Find the cheapest plane ticket to one of the following cities and visit: Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Berlin, Vienna, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Helsinki.

You get life advice if you keep buying and selling expensive gear without keeping it for a period of time. That's how it rolls here.

I did you give you solid audio advice. You already had a Rag / Yggdrasil / HD800 a while back. Then I think you sold all of it at some point and then deleted your account at changstar.com. I don't remember you asking about trying to make it work, or tweak things, or find synergies. Anyone and everyone would have been willing to help you do that at CS. Even Voldemike. But you just got rid of all of it at once.

That's why I told you to get HD650 and Jotun and save your money. You already had HD800 before, so let's not go there. Ragnarok is arguably better or worse than Jotun depending upon synergies. The Elear isn't that much better than HD650. Some things better some things worse.

So I gave you solid advice: get a combination that synergizes well for relatively cheap so you can stick with it and not have buyers' remorse. The other advice was figurative - not literal - meaning save your money for better things in life.

If you don't like realistic advice, don't ask for it.

@cizx If you've got the funds to play, then buy the Jotunheim and sell it around Christmas before Schiit releases their next line of stuff. I mean, heck man, you're in the enviable position of being able to afford all this crap and not really care too much... why are you bugging us for advice when you've already bought/sold most of the usual suspects? Legit question; not being snarky here. If you can afford to play in the sandbox, why are you listening to us plebs?

Audio neurosis "therapy" sometimes comes with audio gear recommendations on SuperBAF. You haven't noticed this, especially as of recent, e.g., the USB gizmo threads? This is a stupid hobby which usually involves flushing money down the toilet. It's fun. I've done my own share of stupid and neurotic stuff. This is why sometimes a dose of reality can be refreshing. This is perspective, not therapy. I'm not trying to be a dickhead, but given how you have reacted so strongly, I get the sense that you have some very serious internal problems. I feel like your asking for audio advice is like an alcoholic asking for wine advice. I never gave you unsolicited therapy... until now.

And seriously, why should anybody take even sixty seconds to gather their thoughts, type on the keyboard, and offer you advice, when all you are going to do is do what you did last time and press the reset button again in three months.

Look, I've known you for a while now. I don't harbor any ill feelings toward you, and despite my rough and tumble approach, I deeply care about the members here (at least the ones who decide to stick around). You have to understand that I see money as a very important thing in life. I don't like seeing people throw it away trying to chase happiness, but never obtaining it. If I did, I'd run this site like Jude.

What actually happened here? The OP is gone so it's very confusing.

I think he accepted Marv's wisdom, deleted his account and is going to try to get help. Or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself.....

Wow, my first dislike is from a cizx hissyfit and not even something substantial. That's rather disappointing.

Huh, seems that SBAF has lost its resident thin-skinned manlet. Can't say I'm surprised. Good riddance, eh?

Kinda disappointed that I missed the fun, though. :p

Honestly, I appreciate that @MoatsArt. But I'm not above mocking people that I feel are deserving of it. And that guy certainly earned some scorn with his petulance. Sorry, but I've no sympathy forthcoming.

There's been several times in the past few days that I'd resisted the compulsion to tackle his malarkey in the various threads that he attempted to derail, but I forced myself to refrain. So I'm afraid that I'm going to let off a little steam, here. On his best day, the guy was a (hilariously) poor spokesperson for the ideas/principles that he advocated.

Anyway, glad he's gone. I'll leave it at that.

Edit: Ah, there's the dislike. Premature grave dancing? Whatever the case, it's back to ignoring the weirdo's psychodrama for me.

It's often not easy to tell what's troubling someone in RL, next to impossible in a forum. Better to let some things go.

Yeah, this guy obviously has problems.

Some people deal with their issues by getting drunk and assaulting random people in the street. Others get on the internet and act adversarial. I know which coping mechanism I would prefer they use...
