All first pressings or promos. Solid, solid day of shopping. Also, Grant Green - Solid.

I was listening to this just now and had to try take a decent picture of it - I love how the record looks! Unfortunately it sounds quite noisy, which is a pity. I stopped, cleaned it over and it got a bit better, but I dont think it'll ever get to how some of the other records are..

(For those that are wondering, its Mono's most recent release - Requiem for Hell)

Just did also. Not the greatest Porcupine Tree fan in the world but at least I can say I shook Steven Wilson's hand.

I finally stumbled upon the remaining volumes of Mermaid Avenue that I'd not picked up.

Holy crap that's a heck of a haul. I don't want to know how much those cost :)

Yep, got my pre-order in. Excited about this one.

Popped into a new-to-me store the other day. Kids were with me so no long extended browsing possible, but I did get my youngest to help me look for a Michael Chapman LP (start 'em crate digging when they're young!)...

    DSC_2194.JPG

Didn't find any Michael Chapman, but did get nice copies of Lou Reed - New York and Van Morrison - Into the Music.

So I've been digging into this and starting to understand some of the what's and whys of different versions of things, especially jazz. When I get a free moment, I'm going to write up a post on how to find the best stuff. I'm only so good at this, but It's a start we can add to as we all get smarter on this.

Biggest record fair in the UK (apparently) in Reading today. After five hours of crate digging, I came away with these. Includes a nice clean original pressing of one of the best named albums ever...Caravan's "For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night" :p
