Any interest in having those E-mu Teak headphones measured by one of our SBAF measurbators? Inquiring minds and all....

I demoed a pair of TH-X00 with E-mu Teak Ebony cups, and my experiences matches up pretty closely with the review; they were just barely more V-shaped than the TH-X00 Ebony. Makes me wonder if the cups are the only difference between the two headphones and E-mu didn't do any additional tweaks on top of what they got from Fostex.

Check out the measurements between the teak & th-x00 on innerfidelity. They seem matched more closely than the channels on a pair of Beyerdynamics.

The Teak wood cups are what made this headphones special. Aesthetically the ebony may be more appealing but the Teak cups give the unique and pleasing sound signature one cannot get from any other Fostex variances.

If you can get the E-mu Teak, you get the Teak cups plus the option to buy the rosewood/ebony cups later. Plus there is no wait.

The Massdrop seems like a better deal. I would probably get that one if I was on the market for it. I feel @Tyll Hertsens did an awesome job covering this. It was a bit sad to see the Denons disappear in the past.

Tyll's review made me hope Massdrop does another drop.

Try emailing E-mu teak directly, I heard they can sell you the headphones at massdrop price.

Detachable cables finally! I've wanted to try these headphones ever since reading Tyll's review on them but couldn't justify $400+ on headphones without a detachable cable.

Another Teak drop is up and has been for several days. I decided to jump in on this drop although I will want to pick up some Dekoni pads in the future as I am not a big fan of the stock pads and will probably want an XLR cable to take the best advantage of my Jotunheim. The removable cable on this version is a nice bonus. The only downside? Shipment date is late July.

It turns out I had a false alert for fraud on my credit card (all cleared up now) but it prevented the charge from going through on Massdrop and caused me to miss out on the E-Mu teak drop. Does anyone know if it's still valid to contact Chan directly and purchase them that way and what the best email address is to do that?
