I wish I knew just how much (or, how little) isolation these have. I just went into my new (likely) workplace yesterday...it's not quiet.

I don't expect more or less isolation/leakage than the TH600/900 or the Denon D5000/7000, which have more isolation than fully open headphones, but not nearly at the level of closed headphones. So, no, these will not isolate you from outside noise, and WILL leak sound.

Those smallish earpad openings might be a dealbreaker for me. I'm the type of guy who likes Audeze LCD or HD800 huge.

It shares the baffle of the TH600/900, so there are like a lot of different pads that will work with it. But yeah, that was my first shock/concern moment too. Too small of a pad shape.

Damn those cans look good. Yup, I'll definitely consider these. Also, it's got that nice pad mounting design, super cool.

Lawton sells the TH900 cups from time to time for $100-$150, I might pick those up and swap the cups at one point if I purchase these Massdrop ones, haha. Sadly, no Canadian shipping, so I'd have to ship to family and wait a while before I get my hands on it.

Purrin already commented about how we'll all like it. They paid him with the first fifty!

I'd be scared to swap the cups or especially the pads out. Pads in particular can affect the tuning quite considerably, and it looks as though the smaller opening of the earpads on this one go a ways in taming the treble.

Just realised, I'll have to do cable modification to balance them myself, or send them off to someone who can do it for me. Damn that Carbon! Hopefully the wires are color coded?

I nominate the HE-500 as sexiest headphone. *nod*

Hahaha, I personally like the look of mahogany on these too, but the red TH-900 cups also look amazing in person :)

$400 US only shipping, yep. Marv wasn't kidding when he said they'll be cheap(er) than most new releases.

Will you be able to share measurements with us prior the sale?
